You will need to know the Top 5 Wedding Venues in Hertfordshire now that lockdown restrictions are being lifted at last. Plans are begining to be made again, including all the postponed wedding plans of thousands of couples. Small weddings can already go ahead, followed by a return to normality hopefully (but not guaranteed) at the end of June.
As restrictions ease and the vaccination programme rolls out, people are feeling more confident about making wedding plans, especially in 2023, 2024, and beyond. With a backlog of happy couples waiting to tie the knot, it’s likely that all wedding venues will be extremely busy.
This makes it important to plan now to make sure all the elements of your wedding come together – venue, catering, flowers and entertainment. In the past, I’ve performed at weddings held in many of Hertfordshire’s top venues, and I’ve formed excellent relationships with them, so here are my top recommendations.
Infused with history, Hatfield House is a stunning venue in which to celebrate your wedding. Famous as the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth I, its picturesque buildings, formal gardens and beautiful grounds will provide a stunning backdrop to your big day. There’s plenty of on-site parking, and for guests arriving by train, the main entrance to the grounds is on the opposite side of the road to the station. So you’ll feel a world apart, even though you’ll just be a 20-minute train journey from London. For an idea of what your big day at Hatfield House could be like, check it out for yourself (see below!).
The Jacobean Fanhams Hall is a stunning country house set on 27 acres of beautiful grounds. Exchange vows in the Great Hall, in the Grade II-listed Japanese Tea House or in the Pavilion overlooking the lake. The hotel has 77 bedrooms so you and your guests can enjoy the party without worrying about the journey home. To see a bit more of this magical venue, click here to watch my video.
If you want an outdoor reception in the middle of the peaceful countryside. Brook Farm will provide exactly what you need. Ceremonies can be performed on a charmingly romantic island in the middle of a lake, with the reception held in a marquee, tipis or yurts on the bank. It’s a wonderful country setting, and I’m extremely proud to be their only recommended magician.
If you’re looking for a stunning country hotel that’s within easy reach of London. West Lodge Park is the place for you. During the latest lockdown, the hotel began construction on a new Garden Pavilion. Which is licensed for wedding ceremonies; all being well, it will be ready for use from July.
You’d never believe the hotel is just one and a half miles from Cockfosters Underground Station in one direction. And two miles from the M25 in the other. Making it an ideal location if you’re planning to head off to the airport by car or public transport. (Remember the days when you could jet off on an exotic honeymoon?). Alternatively, if you want to make a big entrance or exit, the hotel has its own helipad! Click here to watch a top wedding magician in action at West Lodge. It’ll give you a taste of what your own wedding could be like.
Couples looking for a charming countryside venue should check out Tewin Bury Farm. From intimate weddings for 40 guests up to parties of 500. There are barns that will accommodate your happy day and provide special memories. The hotel overlooks the beautiful chalk stream, the River Mimran and the Tewinbury Nature Reserve. Watch the video I made when I performed at a Tewin Bury Farm wedding and I think you’ll see how lovely your special day could be.
