Now that people have begun returning to the office regularly and we are able to meet up with work colleagues in person again, it’s a great time to start thinking about team days and fun team building activities to organise for your employees. Now is the perfect opportunity to get out of the office (or the home office) and do something as a team!
A lot of companies tend to choose outdoor activities such as sports days, raft building or scavenger hunts, while many prefer to choose indoor activities such as escape rooms. But not everyone is going to want to do these kinds of frenetic activities, so maybe it’s time to book something that everyone can join in with. Team-building magic can either be done at your office or at a venue of your choice. It can be part of a wider team building day or the main focus, it’s up to you! There are many unexpected ways that a team-building magic session can benefit your team and help them grow.
There are a number of business benefits of choosing a magic session for team building. It can build strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills amongst your team. It also increases trust, focus and patience. It gets you out of that traditional office atmosphere and comfort zone and allows you to get to know your colleagues on another level.
Many people are growing tired of the sort of team-building days out that include getting muddy or exerting themselves physically. This is particularly true post-lockdown as people have grown accustomed to the comfort of working from home and communicating over Zoom, so this would be a big shift that not everyone would be comfortable with. A magic lesson is the opportunity to have a unique team-building experience that is different from the everyday working routine without plunging people into an outdoor setting they may not be comfortable in.
My magic for team building sessions are a fun and interactive experience that will teach you new skills which you can use in your everyday life and at work (as well as having some fantastic new tricks to show off).
I will teach you the secrets behind a few of the classic magic tricks with detailed instructions, showing you how to do them using a range of different techniques. Some of these techniques are also transferable and can be used in your workplace and in day-to-day life, and include communication, listening, audience engagement and body language.
The magic tricks that I will be showing you will range from card tricks, rope tricks and coin tricks which are done by individuals, but it will also include a group-focused magic trick.
Magic tricks are all about making sure your audience is engaged with you and are fully enthralled with the theatre of the trick. Practising this with your colleagues as the audience ensures that you build the confidence needed to present to them and others in work situations, and are able to have an open dialogue with them.
