Over the years, I’ve performed close up magic at many Bedfordshire weddings. Working in the county’s best wedding venues. If you’re planning to get married in this beautiful county and are looking for somewhere memorable for your special day. Here are some of my personal favourite wedding venues in Bedfordshire:
Luton Hoo, a mansion that once served as the residence for lords and ladies, has been designated as a Grade I listed building. Today, it has been transformed into a luxurious hotel that specialises in hosting exquisite weddings for 50 to 120 guests. Depending on the size of your wedding party, Luton Hoo provides several venue options to choose from. The property spans over 1,000 acres of lush countryside and boasts formal gardens designed by the renowned Capability Brown. Providing breathtaking backdrops for your wedding photos. Additionally, Luton Hoo offers a spa with an indoor infinity pool and a Championship golf course for guests to enjoy.
For those seeking absolute privacy for their wedding celebration. Warren Weir at Luton Hoo can be exclusively hired. This venue can accommodate up to 120 guests and boasts 84 bedrooms to accommodate them.
Woburn Abbey is closed for renovations until 2024. But if you’ve got your heart set on a Woburn wedding, you’ll be delighted with Flitwick Manor; which is just down the road. The hotel is a Grade II listed property, with space for up to 60 guests indoors. And many more if you would like to set up a marquee in the gardens. The venue is even pet-friendly, so if you want your favourite pooch to be part of your big day, they will be welcome to stay with you.
The Auction House in Luton was purpose-built to host Asian weddings with up to 650 guests. It is licensed for civil ceremonies and will also hold Mandap and Nikah ceremonies. Trained chefs are happy to create high-quality Asian cuisine with options for Punjabi (non-Halal), Halal-certified, vegetarian and Gujarati cuisine.
If you’re planning an outdoor countryside wedding, The Lakeside at Wild Berry Farm will suit. It offers three acres of meadowland on the side of a beautiful lake. You’ll have all the essentials included in the core package, and you can hire a marquee, yurt, teepee or whatever you like. They also offer camping and glamping packages for you and your guests; so you can party the night away without having to worry about getting a cab home.
If you really want to push the boat out, the magnificent 18th century Stowe House will provide you with all the stately home elegance you could ever dream of. The mansion’s State Rooms can hold between 40 and 160 guests, or for larger parties, a marquee can be erected on the South Lawn. The mansion is set in 880 acres of grounds which are maintained by the National Trust.
