Best Magic TV Shows – What should I watch?

As you may have seen magic seems to be all over the TV lately so how do you know what is worth a watch? No one wants to waste an hour of their lives watching something that turns out to be rubbish!

So I have tried to make your decision a bit easier for you, here are a few of my favourites:

Killer Magic

Shown on BBC3 Every Tuesday at 10pm

A magic show with a completely different spin on it, for me it made an extremely interesting watch.

5 magicians each with a different weird and wonderful persona compete in a series of magic themed challenges. The magician with the lowest score faces the ‘killer trick’ – a magic trick that has previously killed or injured a magician. Scary!

The best part about this show is that there are no underhand camera tricks or fakery, the magicians are competing against each other so there’s no doubt that any slip ups would be pointed out by the competition. Meaning that what you get is real honest magic that will leave you in awe.

Back in the Room

Shown on ITV Saturdays 8.25pm

You may have already seen some of the backlash that this show has had in the press however it’s still a firm favourite in my books. It’s a typical Saturday night entertainment show with a live audience and hosted by Phillip Schofield. The contestants are hypnotised and then asked to complete gameshow style challenges while under the influence.

Rumours sparked that the hypnotism is not real and complaints have been made however I think it’s good for a laugh and a lot better than most of the Saturday night TV that’s out there! I would definitely recommend it to you if you would like to watch some light hearted family friendly TV.

Back in The Room Magic show

Troy

Shown on E4 Sundays at 9pm

Troy is one of the newest names in magic and he is beginning to make a big impact. Following in the footsteps of Dynamo, Troy aims to astonish and amaze unsuspecting members of the public by performing his magic tricks.

His show leaves the viewer’s trying to work out how the tricks were done like all the best magic does. Along with his contagious personality and fresh look, Troy’s style of magic really does have the public wanting more.
