Bringing magic to a Tring wedding

Pendley Manor in Tring is a Grade II listed hotel set in acres of beautiful Hertfordshire countryside which provides a lovely venue for small or large weddings and of course wedding magic. Its five different function rooms can accommodate between 40 and 200 diners and between 60 and 280 for an evening reception. I’ve performed there on many occasions and in all honesty, I can’t say a bad word about it.

Pendley Manor

My most recent performance there was entertaining the guests after the meal and speeches were over, but before the evening reception began.

After dinner, guests were taken into a different room for tea and coffee whilst the main room was being transformed. This is always a time when the energy starts flagging, especially with more than an hour to wait until the next part of the celebrations. People were dispersed around the room – some sitting at tables, others were at the bar and others were outside. What I was able to do was bring the energy levels back up and encourage people to mingle.

I performed close up magic for an hour and a half which was great because it gave me the opportunity to spend more time with people who were really interested in what I was doing, allowing me to get round everyone without feeling rushed.

I’ve always thought that the key to a good wedding is planning and this one was planned perfectly, which curiously made it more relaxed, fun and successful because the energy levels stayed high.

“We wanted to say thank you for being a part of our wedding on Saturday. You blended in with our guests seamlessly mixing and mingling with all age groups. Highly professional from start to finish. Your magic I can only say was phenomenal and must be seen to be believed. We were worried how our evening and day guests would interact but your magic was just the thing we needed. 110% recommend Christopher for your wedding entertainment.” Mark and Amy Foster, Pendley Manor, 12 March 2016
