On 14th to 16th November London’s only magic convention is hosted at the Mermaid Theatre & Conference Centre. Attracting the most famous and talented names in the magic world to London each year since 1972 this event really is the one to watch out for if you’re within the magic industry.
The convention consists of various shows, lectures, talks, dealers and competitions. Many of the magicians giving talks are making a debut UK appearance especially for this event. In no particular order, here are those presenting:
The inimitable Tom Mullica who has not been back to the UK in many years will be making a special debut for the magic convention! Mullica possesses the special ability of manipulation prowess and superior conjuring. He is a specialist in comedy magic and his popular signature effect is the manipulation of several lit cigarettes in his mouth.
His unique style of magic, his humorous repartee and the warm personal attention he pays to his customers are all reasons that many people returned to see his show year after year, always bringing new friends to join in the fun.
Behind Bob’s humorous presentation style is experience gained from one of the most diverse work histories in magic. Bob Sheets spent a lot of his career in the famous Magic Tower and learnt a lot of his Magic knowledge there.
Jonathan Pendgragon possesses the ability of masterful conjuring, escapism and illusionary skills. He also had a passionate love of magic which pushed him to begin his career performing escapes, mentallism and close-up card tricks.
He has performed over 100
lectures in more than 15 countries and has also produced many instructional magic DVDs which are very popular. Hein is known all over the world for his naturally disarming performance style and his amazing card handling abilities.
Noel Britten delivers a series of fast paced gags with razor sharp timing while retaining a sense of the bizarre and something beyond control. From the outset Noel was described as “the country’s finest emerging stand-up talent”.
Master Payne is a unique contemporary magician as well as a conjurer, Comic Book Character and Columnist for MAGIC Magazine. He has skilfully entertained audiences all over the world for over thirty-five years with his magic shows that you will see nowhere else.
Jon Armstrong performed his magic show combining dynamic personality and imaginative presentations for some of the most prestigious corporations in over 40 countries worldwide. By cleverly blending card magic, humour, and audience participation, Jon will keep every audience in ore and laughing.
Henry Evans created his own set of cards in 1994 that made him “The King of Cards”, the famous magician from Argentina bagged the 3rd prize in the world magic show. Evans presents the art of magic in different forms other than using coins and cards such as the deformation technique.
David Berglas possesses the extraordinary and rare ability of Parapsychological activities he has mastered the impossible arts such as telepathy and mind reading. Amongst magic lovers he is said to be one of the world’s leading mentalists.
